“Travel. It leaves you speechless, then turns you into a storyteller.” — Unknown.
On the ‘road‘ to an adventurous safari.
Beginning the journey at 6:00 AM on our first safari into Zone 3 of Gir National Park. The only sounds that greet us (apart from the jeep we were in) are the chirping of birds.
Entering the gate and we’re off!
The sun’s brightening up the place too.
Approaching a waterbed often used by animals to quench their thirst. Will we be lucky enough to spot them?
The waterbed. The only thing we got a glimpse of was a crocodile Well, the tip of its nose is more accurate.
Here we stop for our always attentive guide hears the call of a lion.
Our guide decides to walk off a bit towards a watchtower.
Pug marks of a lion. We must be inching closer.
A watchtower for the guides to help spot animals easily. Even though we got to see the pug marks of a lion and hear a roar, we did not get to see any lions. Not that day anyway 😉
