Feathered World

Almost every day I get to see more than one parakeet perched on that familiar long wire and screeching away to glory and it completely mesmerizes me. The blue sky as the perfect background, that lovely bright green body with a sharp looking red beak and even sharper squawk creates a perfect musical harmony that I enjoy.

Rose-ringed parakeets, one of the most popular birds to be kept as pets are commonly found in India. Scientifically called Psittacula krameri, these birds have gotten used to the modernized world that we live in and have successfully adapted to it. The shrill squawks that it lets out can almost shatter your eardrums if you were living in a quiet place. But since we aren’t, the shrill sound is often blended with the traffic noise.
